DESIGN
The REVERSE of the coin depicts an incredible image of the Death ready to move its piece on the chessboard.
Death is depicted as a skeleton with a sinister and frightening smile and is holding the Queen in its hand.
On the chessboard there are several chess pieces, including the King, with the inscription: “2021” – the year of issue.
The design also incorporates the inscription: “YOU CAN’T CHEAT DEATH”, minted on the left edge of the coin.
The OBVERSE of the coin depicts a striking image: Death has made its final move and won the game, infuriating its human opponent, who smashes the chessboard.
The tilted Coat of Arms of Palau appears on the top right of the obverse, along with the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” – the country of issue and “20 DOLLARS” – the face value.
